Project ALBON
ALBON - By order of the Flemisch Government (Departement LNE – afdeling ALBON), Jan Maertens & Partners performs, in collaboration with Geolab bvba, an investigation into possible risks of instability in several quarries (pits) located in the region of Flanders. The purpose of the study is to obtain an up-to-date insight into the technical conditions for prevention of soil-collapses and reducing this danger. Based on experiences from the past, a detailed study of literature and data obtained from a large-scale soil analysis, calculations can be made to predict the possible risks of soil-collapse at each considered location.
